Why self-publish? There are several reasons but the main reason is that you have full control of your book. You can write it any way you like. You can create your own book cover. When working with publishing companies, they want it their way. They get most of the royalties. And you have a hard time getting the rights back if you wanted to make the book into an e-book, audio book, or modify it. 

The sample of the books are shown here. I have published through a publishing company which cost thousands of dollars, and I self-published which was an amazing savings plus receiving most of the royalties.
