About God's LoveAs a minister, I'm here to help you find the truth that will make you free (II Timothy 2:24-26). I do not play God in your life, I do not tell you what to do for your situation. I lead you to our Father who has all your answers, and help you to develop the kind of relationship you need with Him so you can hear Him for yourself. So with that understood, I'll begin sharing what the Lord has laid on my heart.
Foundation scripture is Matthew 22:38-40 "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind, and the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself, upon these hang all the law and the prophets. We are going to talk about the first part of this scripture in this session - "you shall love the Lord your God..." This is the building block for our lives. We start by building a proper foundation. Some of you may have been Christians for a long time now, yet you still find that something is missing in your life. It could be your foundation has a crack in it, or you've built your house upon the sand. We need our house built upon the Rock. Jesus is the Rock. It's OK to admit you have a shaky foundation, no one needs to know but you and God. Remember, recognizing truth about your own life is going to help make you free. I've seen foundations built from old religious traditions passed down in the family that amount to only half-truths by the time it got to you. We then also build our foundation on what we "want" to believe, therefore, making it unsound and shaky. How do you know if your foundation is flawed?
Let's start by identifying what your foundation is with your biological father. Let me explain. If you believe you had a great relationship with your father and he provided all the love, encouragement and care you needed as you were growing up, then you can skip this paragraph. However, if you never heard your father say "I love you", "I'm proud of you", "I'm glad you were born," and "I'm glad you are my child," then your foundation was never laid properly for you to go out into the world and live a stable and secure life. Some of you will never hear it, even as adults, some of your parents are long gone, but I'm here to tell you that even though those things may never happen, you can hear those words you long for from your true Father, your Heavenly Father. The first thing you need to learn and get a deep understanding in, is that God is your true father. Our earthly father is our biological father who was instrumental in bringing you into the world, but you need to know who your true Father is and what your true inheritance is. Do not continue with the mindset that your earthly father is your father—truthfully, your father, in reality, is your brother. Why? Because we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord, and when we go to be with the Lord in Heaven, for all those who have received Christ as Savior, they will be our equal. There won't be any differences, so if we have that mindset now, it will help us understand that our parents are children like us, too. Let me reiterate something: You need to understand that your earthly father is not your true father. God is your true father. You may have had a father who abused you, lied to you, or said hurtful things to you. Perhaps your father simply ignored you or abandoned you. Perhaps you never knew your father and you are continually wondering about him. You don't need to wonder any longer, because you need to realize God is your REAL Father. You need to separate the things your father on this earth said to you from the things God says to you now. God is your true inheritance! Ask God to help you get a revelation on Him as your Father. Our Father has something to say to you right now: "My child, I am sorry that your earthly father didn't love you like you needed to be loved. I'm sorry he spoke to you in wrong ways or hurt you. I'm sorry that he ignored you, and was silent to you. But you have to know that I'm not that father. I am your real Father! You need to know that I love you with unconditional love. There is nothing you have done or ever will do that will separate you from my love. (Romans 8:38-39). You need to know how proud I am of you, yes, you! I want you to know that I am so glad you were born, I created you just like you are, there are no mistakes in my design. And I want you to know how very pleased I am with you. Yes you! You may wonder how I can be pleased with you because of all your "stuff" but I am. Don't try to figure me out, just receive my love, for I love you always and forever." These are the true thoughts of God your Father toward you. Meditate on them, ask God to help you receive these words into your heart and allow Him to love you as you always hoped a Father would. Now, in order to develop a solid foundation on this kind of love, built on solid truth, because it's the truth that makes us free (John 8:32), we need to go back and re-build our proper foundation. (You have already begun re-building by receiving the love prayer just spoke to you by your Father in Heaven.) I say to go back and rebuild because many of you are adults now and the foundation you have has probably been compromised, never been built in the first place, or you don't even know where it is! I believe what I'm going to share with you is what you need to learn to get your life back. The Bible says in II Tim. 2:25 "… if God peradventure would give them the repentance of the truth, that they (you) may recover yourselves from the snare of the devil who is able to take him captive at his (the devil's) will." I'm going to help you get "unstuck," and free from whatever ails you or causes you to be taken captive, because all of that comes right from the pit of hell. God's purpose for your life is that you live as His child, filled with love, peace, righteousness and joy. But truthfully, if you are reading this teaching, that may not be the case in your life, even though you may be a Christian, you sense something is still missing. But there is hope! I have found that there are two beliefs that have to be established for creating a firm foundation in a person's life before really living a full and victorious life. They are:
Let's look at God's love. I bet if I were to ask you if you loved God, you would think that was a silly question, because of course you do. But let me shed some truth on that, because if you truly loved God, you wouldn't need ministry. The Bible says in Matthew 22:38-40, "We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our mind. And the second is like it, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves, upon these hang all the law and the prophets." I believe and know without a doubt, that if we understood what this scripture meant, and lived it; we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today. Not that we would become perfect, or everything would be perfect around us, but our hearts would be right to the wrongs in the world and will set us and keep us free from the pain of this world. See it's not necessarily the person or circumstances that causes us our grief, it's how we have responded to it and how we have allowed it to affect us, emotionally. It's what we have participated in our lives that has caused these affects in our lives. Jeremiah 5:25 say that "Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you." Somewhere along the course of your life, you have permitted things in your lives that has caused the result of your life today. Proverbs 26:2 says it this way "… the curse causeless shall not come", and Galatians 6:7, "Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap." Everything that happens to us starts from what we think! And when we think something long enough, it goes into our actions, and then if never dealt with, can turn into a physical ailment. Did you know that disease is just a chemical imbalance? Our bodies either block chemicals or produce too much, all from our thinking. In the medical society, there is a drug that is called a beta-blocker. It does just that, it "blocks" off some chemicals that is producing ailments. So what does this have to do with God's love? It's His love living in us and through us that will balance out our chemicals. It's His love that causes us to be at peace, and when we are at peace, our bodies are at peace and our chemicals balance. In a nutshell - We first need to Love God. However, the truth is, we can't truly love God until we "know" He loves us first! I John says that, "We love Him BECAUSE He first loved us." And we can't really "know" He loves us until we "know" Him. Isn't it true that we don’t' trust just anyone? We trust those whom we "know" and "know" loves and cares for us. It's no different with God. Here you are, all of a sudden, His child through conversion, and now you are told to obey. Yet the reason you struggle with obedience is because you haven't gotten to "know" your Heavenly Father. You need to KNOW Him first. By searching the scriptures and speaking with Him, you'll begin to experience Him in your life. You will get to know His character, the truth of who He is in your life, and all those things you have lived without for so long. I too had to do the same thing. And when I started my "love quest" with God, and asked Him to reveal this love in my life, EVERYTHING began changing! My heart was becoming lighter; my circumstances began changing for the better, I was happier, healthier, and continue enjoying the presence of God twenty-four hours a day. I hear Him when He speaks to me, I don't fall under guilt or condemnation any more when I mess up, my prayers are being answered even before I finish the last word! Because I "know" He loves me, I know how to "receive" His love and forgiveness. But what happens is because our earthly father didn't demonstrate this kind of love, we transfer all our thoughts to God, our Heavenly Father. Our Father in Heaven is nothing like our earthly father, we need to get to know Him from the love Jesus displayed by reading the scriptures - then you'll get the true picture of your Heavenly Father. One who loves, gave His son to die so we wouldn't ever have to die, heals us, delivers us, helps us, keeps us, and on and on. That is our "real" Father. So today, cast down any thoughts that think otherwise (2 Corinthians 10:5). See, I had been under fear most of my life. 18 of those years I was a Christian! And it was all because I wasn't "receiving" God's love. I didn't know how. I didn't know that's what I was missing! In talking about foundation, this is the number one building block for a firm foundation. Now I know, and now you know. We need to be able to receive God's love EVEN in the state we are in. Even though you don't think you deserve to be loved. You have to get a revelation that those things DO NOT matter to God. This is the Love that equips you to defeat the enemy! The Bible says, "Perfect Love casts out Fear." (I John 4:18) He loves you anyway and always. This love quest is a forever thing. The Bible describes God's love as being huge, no one in this lifetime can ever attain ALL of the Love of God, it's too grand. But this way we will keep seeking more and more of it. I have been seeking and receiving and getting revelations every single day on God's love for me, and I've been doing this for several years now and will continue for the rest of my life. The Lord told me one day that, even with all this seeking I have done, I haven't even skimmed the tip of the ice burg! In other words, I have still only begun to truly understand His love for me. And boy, if there is more, I'm really excited about it, because my life is so blessed now, and if there's more, Wow! You need to become honest with God by identifying where your heart is with Him. If any of these statements ring true with you, note them and we'll get back to them momentarily.
We have to get a revelation on the Love of God in our lives - I've said this before, and I say it again. That is the FIRST and FOREMOST thing you can do to find your answers. It sounds simple, but it's the hardest thing to do. Because we come up against walls when we are supposed to believe God loves us, because you know yourself all too well and wonder how anyone can love you, especially God. But the truth is, He does, and you have to get past all that stuff you "think" of yourself and allow God's thinking to penetrate into your life. Remember, all ailments begin in our thoughts. Every one of these statements above starts as a thought. Then as you dwell on them year after year, you not only begin to "believe" them as truths, your body begins to respond with physical ailments such as panic attacks, heart problems, digestion problems, autoimmune diseases, emotional illnesses, and relationship problems including isolation, and so much more. The reason all these thoughts have been there is because the truth is not in there. The truth of God's love. Because if you truly "believed and received God's love for you personally, you wouldn't be thinking any of these thoughts at all because you would know they are lies! It's not that a thought won't come again contrary to God's Word, it's that when it does come you don't entertain it, once you begin to entertain it you will begin to believe it! What are you to keep your mind on (Philippians 4:13). God's thoughts are only truth, and as you begin to receive God's love, His thoughts become your thoughts! Remember, you have the mind of Christ! Choose today whom you will serve, and that includes lies. Here are a couple of scriptures to back up all I have been sharing:
As you get to "know" Him, believing and receiving comes so much easier. Then as you believed, so it will become part of your life. You can only "do" what you "believe." Otherwise your "doing" is all works of the flesh and results in frustration and backsliding! Matthew 8:13 says, "… as you have believed, so be it done unto you." I've only covered the first part of Matthew 22:38-40. "We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind." There is so much more you can read into that, and as you do your study, you will get a revelation on what this scripture is saying. And as we get to know Jesus, we get to know the Father, and we also get to know the Holy Spirit. You need to look up references on all three to get a clear picture of God. We have some misconceptions of Him and all those lies have to be blasted out of our minds, and only the truth of God reside. God is three in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Your healing and restoration begins there. This is the FIRST step in your healing. What I have just shared with you I have shared in my conferences, seminars, and individually with people. But it's the same story. The foundation of love was never established in a person's life. You get this area rooted and grounded in your life, you will see changes!!! Paul says, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length and dept and height; and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that he (you) might be filled with ALL the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:17) It starts with Love. Here is a prayer I want to pray for you: "Father, your love is big and can cover anything we have going on in our lives. I pray this dear Saint gets a revelation on your love, and begins applying forgiveness to their life daily. In order to truly receive your love, we need to deal with the spirit of fear. You have said that you have not given us the spirit of fear, but you have given us Power, Love and a Sound Mind. You also said that "perfect love" casts out all fear and torment. This individual needs your perfect love flowing in them. I break the power of fear off this individual now and cast it out in Jesus name. I ask for your love Father to flood this person's heart with your perfect love. Give them a revelation of your love. I pray that the power of the Holy Spirit, Your love, and the Word who is Jesus become clearer to them. I pray you fill them up right now with your love, compassion, joy and truth. I pray that every lie that has made a home in their thoughts be cast out in Jesus name. Fill them with all that you have. Help them seek out your love, get to "know" you, and begin loving themselves. I believe Father that it is your love and love alone that is the cure for all that ails them. So help my dear friend believe You. Help them to receive your love in new and marvelous ways. I ask for you to touch their life for healing in their bones, body and mind. I pray that the chemicals balance out in their brain, resulting in balanced chemicals in the body. I pray they recognize the thoughts that have caused the imbalance and cast those thoughts down as II Corinth 10:5 tells us to. I ask for your truth and love to replace every lie. I pray your relationship with them is restored to fullness, that there is a sweet communion and fellowship from this day on. I ask you to help them to believe you love them right now, no matter how they feel or what they think. You ARE love Father. I pray that anything else that is distorting who you are in their thinking be cast out in Jesus name. As they receive your love, fear cannot reside. Help them be completely set free from fearful thoughts and doubts and unbelief, and when they do have these thoughts to remember to take them captive and cast them out! I thank you for my dear friend Lord, and ask that what I have shared with them becomes reality in their life. I know this is what we all need. I know this is what will impact every life forever. Help us to realize that love IS the answer. I praise you Father for what you have done so far in my friend's life, even if they think you may have abandoned them, you are working things out in their life, even as we speak. I look forward to the day my friend can walk in complete peace, fearlessness, love and sound mind. Help us to remember in order to get to that place with You, we need to recognize what we are to do as believers. It's our job to recognize and know the truth, but it is Your job to make us free, heal, restore and deliver. Help my friend to trust you and your love for them. Help them to wait patiently for you. Help them to continually seek your love and fear will have no place in them. I thank you for your truth that makes us free. In Jesus name. Amen." But the only way you are going to be truly free from whatever ails you is for you to come into a tight relationship with God. I know what I am speaking, I was very ill, and truly messed up in my thinking about God and His love. Now that I've been seeking Him for several years, every day I get freer, even in areas I didn't even know I was in bondage to! That is how cunning the enemy is. But as God helps me expose the enemy in my life, the freer I become. Don't be afraid of "seeing" the truth in your heart. God sees it anyway; you might as well come clean before Him, no matter how ugly or embarrassing it may be - even though you are a Christian! Because truthfully, the people I minister to ARE and have been Christians for years… but never built the foundation that needed to be built those many years ago! What I taught you is more precious that silver and gold. It is all you need at this point to find your freedom. The other things such as deliverances, etc., can come in time, but this is where you have to start.
