Satan is a big zero!
As you know, this world is founded on money. Isn't it interesting that this world was given to Satan to rule and reign? He was thrown down from heaven to dwell on this planet. This is his world. Yes, it's God's, and the fullness thereof, but we dwell together with God AND Satan. Did you know that Satan was in charge of commerce? (Ezekiel 28:16 Through the abundance of your commerce you were filled with lawlessness and violence, and you sinned; therefore I cast you out as a profane thing from the mountain of God and the guardian cherub drove you out from the midst of the stones of fire.) So, you will also need to understand that this is where he also continues working, in our economy and finances.
The other day I was talking with the Lord and He revealed some very interesting things to me. He said, "What number does the numbering system start with?" I said "zero." He said, "Exactly!" What He showed me is that commerce, economy, and everything we see around us on this planet has to do with money. However, the numbering system starts with a zero! So, this world was founded on nothing! When you add three zeros to the #1, you get $1000. But, they are still zeros. This whole wide world was founded on the number zero! I don't know what that does to you, but that excites me.
I remember praying to God for something tangible. I haven't received it yet, and was thinking if I ever would. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, "God doesn't need to bless you and mix it with dirt!" What He showed me was that He will bless us from the blessings of Heaven, and doesn't need to combine it with things on this planet to give me what I need. Everything on this planet will burn up in the end, sometimes decay, sometimes get stollen. But those things God gives us directly from heaven is eternal, can never be destroyed. That is why the Bible tells us that anyone who loves the world is the enemy of God. And to lay up for yourself treasure in heaven where moth and rust do not corrupt, nor thieves break through and steal, for where your treasure is, there is your heart also.
Something else landed in my spirit during this time. I was thinking about all the mega churches and many television ministries that have countless hundreds attending, and bringing in lots of money. That night I had a dream. I went to a Joyce Meyer conference, and enjoyed it. When I got home, I went to my checkbook to write in a few deposits I got from selling some of my books and materials. I put down $20.00, then $25.00. And then I thought about Joyce Meyer. She is probably writing in her ledger $2000, and $25,000. Then I began to cry. I woke up. I thought perhaps I was being jealous, and so I repented. Then the Lord spoke to me as clear as a bell. "I never intended for those ministries to be like that." What He explained was that, if these individuals were truly doing the work, the wouldn't have money to spend on houses, cars, etc., but would all be poured back into other people's lives. Those very individuals that made them rich! But, that's not what is happening all the time. I'm not saying all of them don't do this, but many get corrupted by the large sums of money coming in.
I continued meditating on this, and then was shown another facet. Let's say you want to buy a piece of property and you begin thinking of ways to do that. Take out bonds, perhaps take out a loan, sell stuff of your own to bring in some money. All kinds of creative ways. Then you buy the property. Then you thank God for giving you the property. However, I hear the Lord saying, "I didn't give you the property, you got it yourself!" We have just mixed blessings with dirt.
But, let's say you want that piece of property and pray for it. Miraculously the money came in from somewhere or the individual decided to just give it to you. Now, that is a true gift from God and didn't get mixed up with the "worlds" way of buying and selling.
He is teaching me, even now, that having lots of things, a big ministry, or lots of followers, is NOT a sign of a successful Christian. The sign of a successful Christian is one whose heart goes after God in every waking moment. Someone who knows how to love others, and esteeming others than themselves. One who treats their family with kindness and goodness. One who is always looking to bless others than blessing themselves. This is truly a rich person! The Bible says the God will bless you with the riches found in Christ Jesus.
Okay, let's look at Christ Jesus. He didn't have a job. He didn't have a place to live. He didn't even have any money. Yet, for those few years of ministry, God His Father in heaven, provided His every need. I don't recall Jesus doing a fund raising event. I don't even recall Him going to the bank to borrow money. He knew that this world is a big ZERO when it comes to provision, when it comes to commerce, when it comes to livlihood. He knew all things He needed came from the Lord God, in Heaven. Yes, Jesus borrowed things, a donkey, an upperroom, etc., but he never owned any of these things.
I believe what I'm trying to say is that, where our heart is, that is where our treasures and riches are, and are to last for eternity. Whether we live in a big house, whether we live in an apartment that we rent, where is our heart? I recall years ago when I heard the Lord say to me, "Hold onto the things of this world - lightly!" And not much longer after that my house burned in a fire, I lost about everything. I'm glad He told me that, because I didn't freak out when it happened. I remained in peace, because I trusted God to take care of me. And He did, and gave me more back than I ever imagined!
I'm still meditating on this, I'm sure more is going to come in the weeks ahead... but wanted to share with you so far what the Lord has been speaking to me about. I think it's important to truly understand God's economy, that it is not at all connected to the world's economy. And once we get that, we will be in more peace, trust God even more, realizing that only He can give us what we truly need.
I wanted to include a segment from a dear friend of mine. She is completely blind, yet sees more than most people do who can see. She has insights into the spirit world that I cannot even imagine myself. So when she says things, especially of spiritual significance, I take note. Here is something she said the other day.
"You heard the saying the grass is always greener on the other side? Well, then water your grass!"
We aren't taking care of what we have! Why would we get more things? Just something to think about.
As usual, I like sharing what my husband says from time to time. He continues saying things that truly bless me. Tom and I were talking one evening, and I asked him to pray for me. I fell and my neck is still having some pain. He said, "I pray for you all the time. Why do you think you have come through so many things so well?" I paused and thought about that. He is right. He does pray for me, continually. He knows I am on the front line in spiritual warfare and knows that His prayers help keep the enemy at bay. I remember when I was ministering on the phone to someone, and when I got off the phone he sensed that I was not alone! In other words, something got off on me from that phone call. So he went into the kitchen and got some foil. He made me a foil hat! He said, "The next time you minister, be sure to wear your hat!" Well, that hat sits near the phone in my office as a reminder to pray for protection on my mind and heart before ministering to people. And it has worked! Thank you Tom for being a wonderful loving and caring husband.
